What is Singles Day?
Singles Day began in China in the 1990s as a celebration for people who aren't in a relationship. The date chosen was 11 November because 11.11 is made up of four ones, each standing for one single person.
Today it is above all a shopping event – and the largest in the world. It falls a little over two weeks before Black Friday and is, for many people, the first chance of the year to make a good purchase before the Christmas rush.
Singles Day offers at Wineandbarrels
We cut prices across the range – wine coolers, wine racks, wine glasses and wine accessories.
Here Singles Day isn't a one-day sale – it's the opening of Black November. On 11 November you get the same prices as later in the month, with the advantage that the most popular models are still in stock. If you'd rather wait, Black Friday and Cyber Monday come later in November.
