For aging
Wine barrels for storage/maturing of wine, spirits, beer or ale
All our barrels are produced by small, family-owned artisan workshops in France, Slovenia, Hungary and Denmark working from proud, venerable handcraft traditions. The oak timber is sourced from nearby forests and is lovingly prepared before being transformed into first class products.
Hungarian barrels
All our Hungarian barrels are made from the finest oak trees, Quercus petraea, which grow on the slopes of the extinct volcano, Mt. Zemplen. Mt. Zemplén is located in theTokaj region of northeastern Hungary. The trees grow very slowly due to the volcanic soil, providing the best conditions to produce a fine, tight grained wood. The trees are cut when they are about 120 years old.
French and American barrels
These barrels are made by a small cooperage located in the Cognac region of France. They are made from the finest French oak from nearby forests. We have the largest selection in the Nordic region combined with the most attractive prices.
